I LOVE antiques! But when your house starts to look more like an antique store rather than a home, it might be a good idea to paint a few pieces. I don't always advise painting antiques, because I love the character and richness they add to a space, but since I got a good deal on this antique side table, I decided to give it a fresh, new look with a coat of paint.

When it comes to painting furniture, patience is a virtue. It takes multiple, thin layers of paint to prevent dripping. If you do have spots where the paint was too thick, simply sand and repaint - 3 coats of paint should cover the piece entirely.
